With over two decades of experience in occupational therapy education, leadership, and advocacy, I have dedicated my career to advancing the profession through academic excellence, mentorship, and strategic leadership. My leadership has been demonstrated by my service as an Accreditation Evaluator (RAE) for ACOTE since 2018 and my role as FOTA Fieldwork and Doctoral Coordinator SIS Chair since 2017. Additionally, I have been elected to leadership positions, including Chair and Secretary of FLOTEC, where I have influenced OT education and professional development at the state level.
Mentorship has been a cornerstone of my leadership, including my selection and service as a mentor in AOTA’s Doctoral Capstone (DC) Mentorship Program, where I mentored junior doctoral coordinators. I have also played an active role in professional and civic organizations, serving on the Arthritis Foundation South Florida Committee and as Scouting Committee Chair (2016–2025), demonstrating long-term leadership in community engagement. My technical assistance and consultancy work includes accreditation and OTD program consulting, helping institutions develop high-quality occupational therapy doctorate programs.
Additionally, I have developed and published a structured system for implementing rigorous, evidence based OTD capstones, with a goal of unifying academic institutions around to ensure high standards and practical application to benefit the institution, students and the profession. Outside of the profession, my advocacy and leadership efforts have been within Scouting and the Arthritis Foundation further reflecting my commitment to advocacy, public leadership and community engagement. I look forward to continuing and expanding these contributions through the OT Leaders and Legacies Society.
